Alto Lead is a high performance flashing, suitable for use in both flat and pitched roof applications.
Produced from sheet Aluminium, Alto Lead provides a low cost alternative to traditional lead flashing. Its unique dimpled appearance offers a greater surface area, allowing it to be worked for longer without compromising its strength.
Alto Lead has a UV stable protective polyurethane coating on top and a durable polyisobutylene backing on the underside. The polyisobutylene adhesive layer creates a permanent bond to all sound building materials and waterproof joints are achieved without the need for adding tape or sealant.
There is no need for a primer, unless the surface to which the Alto Lead is to be applied is unstable. In this instance a bituminous primer must be used.
Due to its lightweight construction, Alto Lead can be cut and shaped with a knife or scissors. Consequently installation is both rapid and safe, with none of the health and safety risks associated with lead itself.
Alto Lead has a life expectancy in excess of 20 years.
Whilst Alto Lead has similar properties to traditional lead, it has no re-sale or scrap value, thus deterring potential theft and vandalism.
